Here are photos comparing the new Boba 3G (in Montenegro) with 2G (in Willow Organic).

They are the same in terms of body panel size, shoulder straps and waist band dimension.

Sleepy Wrap Tying Instruction

SleepyTie_tm-Basic Tying Method

1. Unfold the wrap and find the Sleepy Wrap_TM logo at the center. Place the logo around your waist and wrap around your back.	2. Cross the two pieces behind your back and bring each side up and over your shoulders to the front. Try to keep the material flat so it doesn’t twist.	3. Tuck both pieces underneath the section with the logo.
4. Pull them both down. The part with the label will rise up to your chest and should be adjusted so that it fits you snug and literally clings to your body. You are almost there.	5. Cross the pieces and bring the fabric around your waist behind your back. Make sure that the pieces cross each other high on your chest area (your sternum is a good reference point). There is no need to leave extra space for your baby.	6. Cross the wrap and if there is enough fabric bring it back to the front. If not, you can tie a knot here.
7. You may tie a double knot here, or if there is enough fabric tie the double knot on your back.

Classic Love Your Baby Hold

1. Somebody is getting sleepy.	2. Hold your baby securely and carefully place one leg through the shoulder piece of the Sleepy Wrap_TM that is closest to your body.	3. Spread the fabric wide over your baby's entire bottom, back and shoulder. The wider you spread it the more comfortable it will be.
4. Tuck your baby under the second shoulder piece and spread the fabric.	5. Pull the logo piece of fabric up and over your baby's bottom and back. You can keep your baby's legs covered or you can pull your baby's legs through if you wish.	6. Love your baby.

Upright Newborn/Infant Hold

1. Start with the basic tying method.	2. Grab the shoulder piece closest to your body.	3. Slide your baby down your chest and into the shoulder piece. Do not separate your baby's legs. Leave them tucked in the fetal position.
4. Spread the other shoulder piece over your baby's body.	5. Pull up the logo piece of fabric up and over your baby's back and bottom.

Hammock Hold

1. Fold the shoulder pieces in half. This makes a pouch on each side.	2. Place baby's bottom in the pocket that is closest to your body. Your baby will be sitting sideways with one ear against your chest.	3. Spread the fabric wide over baby's bottom back and shoulder.
4. Place legs into the other pocket and spread fabric again.	5. Pull the logo piece of fabric up and over your baby.	6. Now your hands are free!

You do tie the Sleepy Wrap differently than other baby wraps!!!

Even if you are a babywearing pro and have wrapping committed to muscle memory, please remember that the Sleepy Wrap is different (even from other "stretchy wraps") and does have a stretch factor to it that is all its own. It may take a couple of tries to figure out how to work with the elasticity, but is delightful when you get the tying method down.

Tying the wrap snug against your body when you do the Basic Tie will ensure that your baby is carried higher and will be more comfortable for the both of you. It shouldn't feel bulky or loose, yet at the same time shouldn't be so tight that it's uncomfortable!

This wrap is not meant to just hold your newborn, it's pretty supportive and strong when tied properly. Our photo gallery boasts a picture of a five year old 45 pound girl that is not sagging!!!

So the biggest point is:

It's not necessary to leave extra space for your baby to fit inside as the fabric is actually intended to stretch over your baby for added support and comfort.

Some tips to help you get the perfect fit:

The shoulder pieces that are crossed in front of your body should be clinging to you so that when you retract them they bounce back against your chest. If the fabric is hanging and not clinging, it's not tight enough! The shoulder pieces should actually have to be pulled away from you to get your baby inside.

It should look like there is no way that your baby will fit in there!

Another thing that you can do to ensure proper support is to ensure that you cross the wrap high on your chest. In step 5 of the Basic tie, when you cross the two pieces of fabric to create the "x" that your supports your baby, the pieces should cross each other above your sternum (where your ribs meet). Basically the higher the "x" is, the higher your baby will be carried.

Sometimes it may seem like the shoulder pieces are tight enough, but remember that the piece with the logo (that is wrapped around your waist initially) will actually rise up to your chest and will probably be loose and hanging a little. The logo piece should be adjusted and cling to your chest as well. When the logo piece is not adjusted it gives a little extra slack to the shoulder pieces and causes a "not so snug fit".

Once you figure out how to work with the elasticity of the wrap, it will truly make wrapping and carrying your little one a whole lot easier!

Some Extra Pointers:

When your baby falls asleep, you can tuck his head under the stretchy cotton fabric so that he will be secure and have good neck support.

Some babies (especially gassy babies) prefer to be held upright as opposed to horizontally as in the Hammock Hold. When babies do not want to be held in the Newborn Hold anymore they usually let you know by stretching their legs. Every baby is different. Listen to your baby's cues.

Avoid twisting the shoulder pieces. Make sure you get used to spreading the fabric flat and wide over your shoulders before adjusting it to your desire.

Ramai yang bertanya kepada saya, apa itu Sleepy Wrap (SW)?

Sleepy Wrap adalah baby carrier jenis "wrap", terdiri daripada sehelai kain panjang yang diikat ke badan.

Mengapa saya memilih SW berbanding baby carrier jenis lain?

Sebab utama adalah keselesaan kepada bayi dan juga pemakai.

Anak saya sangat colicky semasa usianya 2 bulan. Selalu nak dipegang dan didukung. Saya cuba meletakkannya di dalam stroller tetapi dia hanya akan menangis. Kalau dia nak duduk sekalipun hanya untuk tempoh masa sekejap. So, saya gave up stroller...

Then, saya cuba pula carrier yang macam bag pack tu. Again, anak saya tak suka. Mungkin sebab designnya yang banyak strap dan material yang agak kasar dan kurang selesa. Lagipun, carrier jenis ini susah nak adjust dan susah juga nak masukkan anak ke dalamnya.
I gave up again...

Finally, selepas extensive research melalui internet, saya terjumpa SW dan nekad untuk mencuba satu. Mula-mula anak saya struggle juga sebab tak biasa but after a while dia diam dan terus tidur! Even my husband who was skeptical at first was impressed...

Sekarang ni saya gunakan SW untuk ke mana-mana (stroller dan baby carrier dah jual!). Shopping lebih senang sebab anak sentiasa dekat so tak perlu risau, berbanding dengan stroller, kadang-kadang takut terleka (maklumlah orang perempuan shopping!). Anak saya juga lebih tenang dan senang tidur.

Tak sakit badan ke pakai SW?
Tidak! Sebab materialnya lembut walaupun kukuh. Lagipun cara ikatan SW membuatkan berat beban disebarkan rata ke seluruh bahu dan belakang (kalau sling carrier sebelah bahu sahaja). Tak rasa berat pun...
Secara jujurnya saya boleh berjalan-jalan dengan SW selama 3-4 jam tanpa henti (sekarang berat anak saya hampir 6kg).

Macam susah je nak pakai SW ni?
Sekali imbas macam susah, tapi lepas 2-3 kali mencuba senang je! Ikut sahaja arahan yang disertakan dengan SW. SW adalah stretchy, so tak perlu nak agak berapa besar ruang yang baby perlukan. Hanya ikat SW dengan ketat. Instruction dalam booklet juga sangat mudah difahami.

Baby saya besar, sesuai ke?
SW direka untuk newborn (including premiees) hingga bayi usia setahun, tetapi anda boleh terus menggunakannya selagi anda dan bayi selesa. SW telah diuji boleh menampung berat sehingga 45 pounds (lebih kurang 20kg).

Anak saya tak rasa sakit/ tersepit ke?
Tidak! Material SW adalah stretchy so tidak ada pressure point. Walau bagaimanapun, anda mungkin perlu adjust carrying position yang paling selesa untuk anak anda mengikut usia, saiz dan berat badannya. (Instruction untuk carrying position berbeza disertakan)

Choosing a baby carrier

As mothers are realizing the importance and benefit of wearing their babies, many different types and styles of baby carriers are becoming available. With so many choices it may seem overwhelming to choose the right carrier for you and your baby. Here are some observations about the latest carriers and how they might work for you.

The basic types of baby carriers:

Baby Wrap -a baby wrap has no clasps or rings. It is a simple piece of long cloth wrapped around your body and your baby. Wrap baby carriers offer many different positions for holding your baby at various ages.

Baby Sling -a baby sling uses rings to form an adjustable pouch that goes over your shoulder to hold your baby.

Mei-Tai Baby Carrier -a mei-tai baby carrier has four straps coming off the body of the carrier, which can be tied in ways to wear your baby on your front, back or hip.

Soft Structured Baby Carrier -these carriers are more like a back pack and are generally designed for older babies and toddlers to be worn on your body’s front, back or hip.

As your baby grows, it may become necessary to use more than one type of baby carrier. The sling is great for newborns that like to be held close in the cradle position. It is easy to get on and off. However, the sling is supported by only one shoulder, which isn’t ergonomically ideal. The mother can switch shoulders, but that can feel a little awkward due to right or left-handedness. The sling can also be used when carrying a toddler or older baby on your hip. But, as your baby grows, the one shoulder carry position tends to overuse and strain muscles.

The wrap carriers can solve this problem. The wrap is comfortable for the wearer in that it crosses in the back and offers symmetric support to the body. It offers one size fits all just by its nature. Nursing your baby in the wrap is simple and discrete. Once tied on you can leave the wrap on your body and take your baby out and put her back in if necessary. The options for positions are limitless in that mothers come up with their own ideas for the best position for themselves and their babies. As my baby grew I also felt the baby wrap was more secure and offered more ergonomic options for carrying an almost toddler. Your baby is in a womb-like environment with the wrap and will sleep for extended periods.

Once your baby can go to the back position (generally around 9 months) the mei-tai baby carrier becomes a great option. The front and back carries are both simple and comfortable for mother and child. With your baby on your back it becomes easier for you to do things in the front…cooking, laundry, vacuuming, bending over to garden, whatever you need to do. With the mei-tai front carry, the straps cross are in the back, which gives support and comfort for the wearer. The back position has the straps coming around the shoulders (like a back-pack), which can pull and be uncomfortable after longer periods of wearing. There are Mei-Tais that have padded shoulder straps that offer a little more support. A Mei-tai provides holds for infants, but they don’t seem to hold the head in positions as well as a baby wrap or a soft structured carrier with a hood. Your older baby will still enjoy the front position (facing you) for nursing, sleeping and snuggling and the wrap seems to give the best support and comfort for mom and baby in the front carry.

Finally, as your baby grows into a toddler there is still the need for carrying. The soft-structured baby carriers offer more waist support and many adjustments to help support your toddler in a way that is most ergonomically correct for you. The extra clasp that links the shoulder straps together is extremely important to use for taking pressure off the shoulders. These carriers offer infant inserts for carrying young babies, but seem to be best suited for older babies and toddlers. With lots of padding in the shoulders and hip belt this type of carrier can be worn for extended periods of time. Many of them also have pockets in a few places for carrying extras such as money, keys, water bottles, etc.

I am not saying you have to have four carriers to enjoy carrying your baby and do it successfully. Much depends on the length of time you will wear your child. The most important thing about baby wearing is to do it! If your are unfamiliar with baby carriers it all can seem a bit overwhelming as far as usage and different positions. Practice and perseverance is necessary for all carriers. Lugging a car seat on your arm or pushing an unruly stroller doesn’t get easier…but lovingly carrying your baby in a carrier does.

*Note: There are carries that show wearing positions with your baby upright and forward facing (legs hanging down). This position does not offer the maximum support for your baby’s spine. A baby’s spine should have a c-shaped (convex) curve which naturally occurs when they are facing you with feet in a frog-like position. The forward facing upright position forces all the weight of the baby on the hips and crotch area. You can put your baby facing forward in a Buddha like position (with their legs pulled up in front of them) in the sling or wrap, but the center of gravity will be off, making the person whom is carrying the baby try to compensate for the awkward load, subsequently placing additional stress on the carrier's back.

Allows you to safely move about with your baby regardless of terrain -you can stroll down uneven sidewalks, narrow lanes, walk up stairs, or climb mountains.
Is healthy for you -it encourages you to get out and get some exercise and some fresh air into your lungs.
Provides security -access to food, warmth and love.
Makes discreet nursing possible without having to find a place to sit.
Helps you interact with other children while holding your baby close at the same time.
Allows you to go places, together! You can go anywhere with your baby safe and secure.

Sebenarnya konsep babywearing ini dah lama wujud, terutama di negara-negara asia dan afrika, di mana ibu-ibu biasa mengendong dan membawa anak kecil mereka ke mana sahaja mereka pergi dan dalam apa jua yang mereka lakukan. Pernah tonton cerita Oshin? Kan dalam cerita tu Oshin kendong adik dia. Malah, masa saya kecil dahulu pun kalau nak kendong saya akan sebut 'nak oshin', menunjukkan betapa sinonimnya budaya mengendong bayi atau babywearing dalam masyarakat asia. Nenek moyang kita dulu pun selalu mengendong bayi, cuba tengok filem dulu-dulu mesti ada scene mengendong bayi. Kalau anda bernasib baik, mungkin masa kecil dulu pun anda selalu digendong ibu anda?

Jadi, sebenarnya babywearing ini adalah konsep lama yang dipopularkan semula di barat. Ini kerana babywearing mempunyai pelbagai faedah yang telah terbukti keberkesanannya secara saintifik (some of them).

For the baby:

Babies cry less. Research has shown that babies who are carried cry (on average) 43% less overall and 54% less during the evening hours (1). In cultures where babies are carried almost continuously, babies cry much less than those in non-carrying cultures (2-6).
Good for baby's mental development. Babies spend more time in a "quiet, alert state" when carried - the ideal state for learning. Their senses are stimulated while being carried (yet there is a place to retreat too). When carried, your baby sees the world from where you do, instead of the ceiling above his crib or people's knees from a stroller. And the extra stimulation benefits brain development.
Good for baby's emotional development. Babies are quickly able to develop a sense of security and trust when they are carried. They are more likely to be securely attached to their care-giver/s (7) and often become independent at an earlier age (8).
Good for baby's physical development. By being so close to your body's rhythms, your newborn "gets in rhythm" much more quickly. Your heartbeat, breathing, voice and warmth are all familiar. Research has shown how this helps newborns (especially premature babies) to adapt to life outside the womb (9).
Good for babies whose mums are depressed. Babies who are not held need more verbal interaction and eye contact, just to be reassured that you're there. Carrying your baby is a great way to connect with her (and provide stimulation too) without the "burden" of having to interact (10). Of course your baby is "right there" to enjoy whenever you feel like snuggling, kissing or talking.

Not only that, with babywearing you can:

Cook dinner during the "arsenic hour" and soothe your baby at the same time
Do the gardening, chores, socialise, even dance, while providing a stimulating learning environment for your baby
Breastfeed hands-free while on the phone or shopping
Keep your baby close and happy while playing with your toddler

No need to lug around an awkward, heavy carseat, or battle getting a stroller into your car, onto a bus or up stairs.

Kesimpulannya, dengan mengendong bayi anda bukan sahaja dapat membuat kerja-kerja lain sambil menjaga bayi anda, malah bayi juga terbukti lebih cepat belajar, alert, membesar dengan sihat mentally and emotionally serta kurang menangis kerana anda lebih peka terhadap semua keperluannya.

Ada orang menganggap jika selalu mengendong atau mendukung bayi, bayi akan terlalu bergantung atau clingy kepada anda. Hakikatnya adalah yang sebaliknya. Bayi yang selalu dikendong akan lebih cepat belajar berdikari. Ini kerana bayi develops sense of security and trust when carried, dan lebih yakin untuk menghadapi dunia luar.

Payment

1) Payment must be made within 48 hours after placing an order. Payment is via bank transfer (Maybank / CIMB) or paypal. Account information will be sent by email after an order is placed.
2) Please email after you have made the payment for speedier processing.

Shipping / Postage

1) Shipping cost is RM8 via Poslaju (each carrier weighs about 0.8kg). We charge exact shipping, we do not make money from shipping :D Orders are shipped out within 48 hours after payment is cleared.

Return Policy

1) All sales are final. We do not accept returns or make refunds, unless it is our fault (address entry mistake, color choice mistake etc). However, shipping cost is non-refundable in any cases. Please ensure all your details are correct before proceeding to order.
